In depth

Verdict

Chalonnial has shown plenty of ability in a light career to date in bumpers and over hurdles. He was third in the Tolworth here last season and has the size to do well over fences. Jameson was second on his chasing bow at Ffos Las and may do better on this quicker surface. Baden was highly tried over hurdles after winning at Wetherby last year while Touch Kick will have had plenty of schooling, though wasn't always straightforward over timber. Western Miller has gone backwards since winning at Stratford so CASPER KING (NAP) makes more appeal. By the same sire as last season's top novice Might Bite, who runs later on the card, Philip Hobbs' six-year-old could be well handicapped on his fencing bow.
