In depth

Verdict

Royal Confidence looks a good thing in this maiden, Cordell and Dubai Power could be the ones to chase her home. The Barry Hills trained filly has put in three solid efforts to date, culminating in a close up second to Fashion Rocks in what looked a high class maiden at Goodwood. Anything near that brun today should be good enough to land first prize. Cordell has also taken on some decent types, but we are not sure the drop back to five furlongs will suit. The pick of the two newcomers could be Clive Brittain's Dubai Power. The stable have hit a decent patch of form and this expensive daughter of Cadeaux Genereux should be watched very closely in the market. The same applies to the Nick Littmoden debutante Wavertree Princess, but on this occasion we have to side with experience and give Royal Confidence a confident vote.
