In depth

Formwatch

Arleneseoin (IRE) Front running sort who was best on faster ground when trained by Josh Gifford, so today's conditions might be a worry.

Spring Saint His form for Martin Pipe last season would give him a major chance in this. Will not mind the ground, but was pulled up in a point-to-point recently. If anywhere near last season's form, though, he'll be hard to beat.

Ajar (IRE) Decent ex-Irish performer who won a flat race for new connections last year. Will like this ground, and drops back in trip here which should suit. Definite place claims at least.

Life's Work Useful sort for Philip Hobbs last season, and won a point-to-point in good fashion last time so comes here the form horse and with conditions in his favour is probably the one to beat.

Stormy Session Hard fought winner between the flags this season, but unseated rider when struggling in a better race than this at Haydock subsequently. Does not appear at his best on this sort of surface, but cannot totally be ruled out.

Swansea Gold (IRE) Has not run since may and is basically a fairly dour stayer so it looks like she might need the run here.

Epsilo de La Ronce (FR) Decent effort at Haydock last week, and would have beaten Stormy Session. The drop back in trip may help, and he may be improving. Lively outsider.

Reign Dance Has only had one run, where he fell in a point-to-point, in nearly two years. Impossible to fancy.

Veredarius (FR) Ex-Irish horse who has little form to boast over here. Pulled up in a recent point-to-point, and nothing to suggest he can do any better here.
