Verdict

Daily Bulletin made a belated reappearance at Newmarket at the start of this month and ran well for fourth in a higher grade than this. He should be sharper today while Thaqaffa went close at Pontefract earlier but failed to take advantage dropped in class at Kempton last time. Wimpole Hall has leading claims on his recent narrow-margin defeat over track and trip when a below-par WAR STORY (NAP) spread a plate on the way to the start. But the latter had gone close both here and at Ascot before that so Luca Cumani’s colt gets another chance in this. Haydock winner George William, Medburn Dream and Ice Royal have all won lower grade handicaps this year but have something to prove off their current marks.
