Verdict

The market will offer us most clues in today's opener though without this vital information, we will serve up TARITA at the expense of Thomas Baines and Autocracy. Though holding no serious entries at this stage, Richard Hannon's filly shaped entirely with promise on debut at Newmarket and if we see any rain en route to this contest, as a daughter of Bahamian Bounty, she should not be inconvenienced by it. Thomas Baines went into many notebooks earlier in the season with an eyecatching debut. Unfortunately he earned himself a quick removal from those same books with a series of quirky efforts. Michael Bell appears to have let him go away from the track in an attempt to allow him to mature somewhat. Autocracy is nicely bred. His dam, Imperial Bailiwick, was not short of speed so it is to be hoped that this has transferred through the genes. Portman Boy is a son of Exceed and Excel though has had the unkindest cut of all. Rockabilly Rebel has taken his chances in two fair Windsor maidens and may make more appeal once tried in nurseries. Ballachulish should have come on for his first experience having looked all at sea at Warwick. Final Answer should be precocious enough on breeding to make his presence felt at this level. Tarita can win a race that is likely to throw up a number of future winners.
