    Verdict

Alan King is not known for his prowess with juveniles but he has done well with his small team of two-year-old runners this term, with Howle Hill winning his maiden at Salisbury last time in good fashion. This will be tougher though and others are preferred. Among those with claims are recent Goodwood winner Naahy, although a 6lb penalty will not help him, Brian Meehan's well drawn Almond Beach and Richard Hannon's Carrowdore who may do better now that he runs in nurseries. The TEAMtalk vote though goes to the Barry Hills-trained Desert Trapper. The son of Desert Story beat a good field to open his account at Ayr last time and, with the second having won in similar company to this since, he looks well treated on his handicap debut.
