In depth

Verdict

Blairgowrie gets the confident vote with Arrayou and Emperor's Monarch rating the main dangers. The selection has been in fair form of late and was a good third behind Red Georgie last time out. That form has since been franked and with this faster ground sure to suit he looks capable of regaining the winning thread. Arrayou rates the main danger on his best form but he has not progressed as expected of late and for that reason he is opposed. Emperor's Monarch won well last time out when beating Kempski but that was over a shorter trip and he will need to improve again to score under his penalty. Of the remainder Roringwater was a fair third behind Fair Spin last time and is another with place claims but he looks very one-paced and for the winner we return to Blairgowrie who has everything in his favour today.
