In depth

Verdict

Rare Society is given the vote in this tricky maiden chase, Theatre Knight and Jonny's Kick appear to be the main rivals. Sue Smith's gelding has come up against two very decent types this season, finishing runner up on both occasions. There is nothing of that standard in today's contest and he looks the one to be on. Former point to pointer Theatre Knight has shown promise in two hurdle races to date but should be much more at home over these larger obstacles. Jonny's Kick showed improved form to finish a close up third behind Dun Doire at Wetherby last time and should be in the shake up. Perfect Punch is from a yard in form and should be watched closely in the betting market, but, in a very poor contest, Rare Society should be up to landing first prize.
