In depth

Verdict

Winning pointer Carnacrack has proved well suited by an extreme test as he showed when an impressive 22-length novice winner at Cartmel in June and is handed the TEAMtalk vote to follow up. The eight-year-old goes well fresh and, with further improvement to come from this unexposed sort, can take advantage of a potentially lenient mark. April Spirit has been knocking on the door of late but is creeping up the weights and is now 10lb higher than her Worcester victory in July. Atomic Breeze remains a maiden having had plenty of chances and looks worth opposing once again. There is little to separate Laazim Afooz and Trooper on this month's course and distance form and both are respected on similar ground.
