In depth

Verdict

A SMOOTH CRIMINAL had indicated at ability when runner-up at Leopardstown and looked a decent handicap prospect when scoring with a bit in hand in a maiden at Clonmel. A mark of 72 doesn't look excessive and he can go in again. Sunnyhill Lad had shown nothing in maidens which is why he went off at 33/1 on his handicap debut at Limerick but he defied his odds with a convincing victory and has only gone up 3lb. Dream Point has only run on Polytrack and didn't run very well when sent to Chelmsford while Dawn Hoofer finished a long way last of four at Cork and was also well beaten on her reappearance.
