Verdict

Richard Fahey's Danderek was well held on his debut in a Wetherby bumper last month but showed some promise in a Kempton maiden on his first start under Flat racing rules when fourth behind Champagne Fizz recently. But the winner is only rated 55 so he needs to improve and a better bet appears to be LOOK OFFICER, who gets the vote over Mehendi. Brian Ellison's gelding failed to take to hurdles when tried over them at Aintree in October so it is no surprise to see him back on the level and he would have every chance if able to reproduce his early form as a two-year-old, although he has run below par this year. Lady Champagne has been beaten some way out in both starts so far, in a bumper on her debut and at Wolverhampton last time in a maiden, but she may do better on her first start on the Fibresand. Time To Play seems to have gone downhill, while Gay Kelleway's Dovedon Angel has run better of late but needs to improve to get the better of the selection. The filly showed some ability when trained in Ireland by David Wachman and ran to a similar level of ability on her British debut for Tom Dascombe when a close third behind Pyrus Time in a Lingfield maiden last month. Given her American dirt-bred pedigree the daughter of Officer should relish the Fibresand and she is taken to open her account.
