Verdict

HURRICANE HARRIET heads our shortlist here, joined on it by Cool Sands and Steel Blue. The selection was due to run in a better race than this at Newmarket on Saturday, so do check on that run. previously three wins from four outings had handsomely rewarded backers. A low draw here will only help, and although top weight, she's not giving much away. She's got plenty of early pace, and Southwell's a track where front runners tend to do well. Cool Sands is a course and distance winner who's more than repaid connections over the years. Also drawn low, he's getting a fair bit in hand at the weights with Hurricane Harriet. Steel Blue finished behind Cool Sands on his previous Southwell outing but has a high draw to contend with. Watch your Steels here as there's also Steel City Boy. Our preference though is for Hurricane Harriet.
