Verdict

A competitive race for the grade where not too many can confidently be ruled out. The shortlist includes: Henry Tun, who usually goes well here and is respected after his course and distance win from last Sunday, Panjandrum, who has good claims at the weights, and Tigress, who ran as if she was about to hit form behind Playtime Blue last time. However, it may be worth chancing the old boy Juwwi now that he has benefited from a handful of outings in recent weeks. The 10-year-old has very solid claims on a line through Arrogant Prince, who confirmed his well being in better race than this last week. The presence of Sharp Hat and Tigress should ensure that there is sufficient pace for Juwwi to have the race run to suit and, considering that Darren Williams has ridden his to victory on six previous occasions, he looks the value call in a race where luck in running will play huge part in the outcome.
