Verdict

Course and distance suit SWINBROOK, who is taken to score here from Crocodile Bay and Don Pele. The selection has been tried without success in a couple of claimers of late and is no good thing here, but he generally can be relied upon to run his race and we will side with him. Crocodile Bay has done his recent winning at seven furlongs and a mile and he acts well at the track and in this sort of grade. This looks his preferred artificial surface and so we expect to see a better effort than was the case at Wolverhampton last time. Don Pele has done all his winning at this trip, and he went very close over course and distance on his first try at the track in a handicap last month. He is much respected, though strictly on the form book he has a bit to find with the selection at the weights. Kinout represents a yard going very well and if back to anything like the form of his Wolverhampton win last spring then he'd have to be taken very seriously, so a market check is advised. Little else inspires here and we'll take Swinbrook to score.
