Bridey's Lettuce was only beaten a neck by Paladin over 1m3f here last week and is getting closer. Ivan Furtado’s gelding is 5lb better off with the winner but the latter was finishing off best and could confirm the form with another furlong to cover. MACKIRI ran his best race so far last time over 2m but this will be a test of stamina and Mike Appleby’s unexposed four-year-old is unlikely to be fazed by the switch to Fibresand. First-time headgear increases optimism of a good run and Luke Morris keeps the partnership intact.
