      Verdict

A trio of course winners all have claims off their current marks if rediscovering their best form. Maslak and Simple Jim haven't scored since last year, but have both slipped down the weights as a consequence, while Carnac is only 1lb higher than when winning over C&D in January. It's interesting, however, that MECOX BAY recorded his best effort of the year when runner-up over track and trip on his Fibresand debut in October and Peter Hiatt's four-year-old gets the nod with more to come on this surface. Decana did better when stepped up to 2m on the Polytrack last time but faces different conditions today.
