In depth

Verdict

A race where the market can give us plenty of clues and help given the lack of experience, but PROMISING ANSHAN can continue Charlie Mann's decent recent form, and get the better of Quintero and Persian Gates. The yard had some good winners over the weekend, and this former Irish winning pointer looks capable of winning under rules first time out. He's got similar entries lined up this week for Exeter, Warwick and Ludlow. Quintero is another debutant under rules, and Evan Williams' only runner on the card, which could be a clue in itself. Persian Gates wasn't the most fluent of jumper on debut following some modest bumper runs. Just Matty tries jumping for the first time after three poor efforts on the flat. A close eye on the market could pay dividends, but tentatively we'll side with Promising Anshan.
