In depth

Verdict

Ronnie Howe has obvious claims and can oblige at the expense of Royal Dagger and Stoneacre Donny in a moderate affair. The majority of this lot have shown either little or no promise to date, and so the recent effort of Ronnie Howe should be enough to see him open his account. The Michael Dods-trained gelding was only beaten a head on his Fibresand debut, with the favourite for that race back in third, so with minimal improvement he should go on to score. Royal Dagger is the unknown quantity as he makes his racecourse debut, but on breeding it looks as though he will need another furlong to be seen to best effect. Peter Grayson saddles two runners, with preference for Stoneacre Donny who lost all chance at the start on his debut here behind the selection. He can improve, but so can Ronnie Howe who should have little difficulty opening his account today.
