    Verdict

Boppys Dancer is just preferred to Kirkhammerton and Wee Charlie Castle, with Newtonian and Starcross Maid making for a competitive affair. Boppys Dancer opened his account on his fourth visit to Southwell, scoring from 1lb out of the handicap in what was a moderate contest. However, now that he has got his head in front, there could be more to come from the four-year-old, especially as Paul Midgely has his small team in good shape at present. Kirkhammerton should also go well, having finished second over a mile here a fortnight ago. He has winning form round here and can make his presence felt over this longer trip. Wee Charlie Castle was third here on his last appearance over three months ago, but seems to fare better on faster surfaces, but in contrast Newtonian handles the Fibresand well and drops back slightly to a more suitable trip. He holds Starcross Maid on latest form and should be there or thereabouts. However, for the winner we return to Boppys Dancer.
