Verdict

FIERY SPICE (NAP) continued his good progress with a handicap debut success at Newcastle in a higher grade than this. Robert Cowell’s charge had won a maiden race over track and trip before that with Highly Focussed well beaten. Little Nosegay had tumbled down the weights before winning at Wolverhampton but had finished behind both Highly Focussed and Zandradee at the same track earlier. Scotch Myst won over 6f here on New Year’s Day and can race off a similar mark back on the Fibresand for the time since.
