In depth

Verdict

Roundel was giving weight to higher-rated horses when third of four in a maiden here and makes his handicap debut while Puchita has won over 6f here but remains without a win in 15 previous attempts over today’s trip. Equidae has lost his way since scoring over track and trip in August while Society Queen debuts on the surface having won over 6f at Pontefract. YOUNG JOHN (NAP) wasn’t beaten far when fifth over a shorter distance here last time and was beaten only a head off a much higher mark the last time he raced over track and trip. He gets the vote to return to winning ways in this.
