Verdict

The two leading form contenders both have to prove themselves on this surface but it may be worth taking a chance on CITY GOSSIP ahead of Giulietta Da Vinci whilst Lord Victor is best of those with track form. Mick Quinlan's runner hasn't had many opportunities but has leading claims at the weights judged by official figures and her pedigree offers hope that she'll act on this track whilst the drop back in trip will be in her favour. Giulietta Da Vinci won comfortably at Lingfield on her penultimate start but proved very disappointing at Wolverhampton on her first run for this yard. She was reported to have finished lame so it may be worth forgiving her that run but she does have to bounce back. Lord Victor could only find the one pace over six furlongs at Wolverhampton on his most recent outing and ran no race over course and distance in cheekpieces prior to that. However, he did go close in a six furlong seller here three starts ago and can't be ignored but preference is for City Gossip.
