In depth

Verdict

Kevin Ryan's Reverend Green won a bumper here in January and followed that with a debut success on Flat racing rules when successful in a maiden later in the month over an inadequate mile before not being disgraced on his handicap debut when third behind Spruce over 1m4f and he has solid claims dropped a furlong but more solid chances are held by Whooshka, who gets the vote over Kingsdale Orion. Brian Ellison's gelding did not seemingly take to hurdles at Newcastle last month and should do better back on the level racing off just a 1lb higher mark than when second to Shadows Lengthen here in January. Mick Easterby's Country Road is unexposed after just four starts and has to be considered on his Fibresand debut, while Alan Swinbank's Full Speed should do better over this trip having looked outpaced over a mile last time. The vote then goes the way of Peter Chapple-Hyam's Whooshka, who has shown improved form for racing on the Fibresand and he can resume winning ways off a 1lb lower mark than when narrowly beaten by Eseej over course and distance last time.
