In depth

Verdict

St Savarin, Yakimov and Sweet World are the trio for the shortlist and we are with St Savarin. The selection is rated far in excess of these on official figures and it is somewhat surprising that connections are coming here in December for a shot at a pool of just 3000 pounds. Yakimov was beaten comprehensively over seven furlongs at Wolverhampton. He steps up to this trip in the hope of rediscovering the form. Sweet World won a seller at Ayr in September. He stays this trip adequately enough. Lady Romanov is exposed as a plating hurdler. Ballieborough looks to be struggling against the handicapper and has it to do at these terms. Global Traffic does not look good enough. St Savarin is well ahead on official figures and is likely to be priced accordingly.
