In depth

Verdict

A good race in prospect and Victory Quest is offered the selection ahead of Rule For Ever and Jeepstar. Sue Lamyman's knack of handling stayers was perfectly demonstrated with Jamaican Flight and she looks to have found a ready made replacement here. The seven-year-old has been noted by the handicapper but with form over course and distance, he is difficult to get away from. Rule For Ever is likely to try and steal this race from the front. He has ability although this is tempered by the odd quirk or two. Jeepstar could take him on for the lead as he has front run in the past over much shorter trips. The jury is out as to whether he is as effective over this. Al Moulatham upset the applecart for many with a decisive victory last time out. The opposition looks tougher this time around. Mountain Fairy has first time visors while Halland and Greyside are probably best watched. Victory Quest is in form and with conditions in his favour, he is difficult to get away from.
