In depth

Verdict

DON PELE can land yet another plate with Strathmore and Weet A Surprise put up as alternatives. A winner at Lingfield and Wolverhampton, he has previously won at this course in January so the switch back to fibresand holds no fears for his backers. Strathmore was just behind the selection when they met at Wolverhampton recently. The grey has clearly needed a few races in order to reach match fitness. Stable companion, Swinbrook, was a bitter disappointment on return from absence and he needs to have rediscovered his sparkle in the interim. Weet A Surprise has an interesting jockey booking with Chris Catlin aboard. The filly is better known over five furlongs and is entitled to have come on for a recent outing. Kingsmaite needs little introduction but is alas on the downgrade nowadays. She's Our Dream looks distinctly ordinary at best. The usual suspects in opposition and Don Pele can be backed to get his head in front again.
