In depth

Verdict

Only A Grand has been competing consistently without getting his head in front and a chance is taken with him here on this, his eighth appearence around this circuit this winter. Beaten favourite last time when dropped back to 7f, he appeared the likeliest winner for most of the journey until weakening in the closing stages. Back up to the mile journey, he is our nomination to land the opener. Another Genepi and Dasheena look the biggest danger to the selection. Another Genepi uncharacteristically missed the break at Kempton last time but was in fine form prior to that outing with two wins over 6f. That does appear his optimum trip though while Dasheena is a course winner but has been climbing the ratings of late. Only A Grand is our pick to win the opener.
