In depth

Verdict

In the opener, we will side with Silver Crest ahead of Arkadian Blues with the market probably providing the best guide as to the best of the rest. The selection showed more than enough on his Nottingham debut, when he was second to Lyrical Blues, to suggest that a race of this nature was up for grabs. He can set about proving that today. Bathwick Intyre was entered in arguably better races than this later this week and the stable has been producing winners so he might go well, while Tim Easterby's Furs N Gems has something to like on breeding and is one to look out for in the betting. Dream Factor ran fairly well after playing up beforehand in a Lingfield race that has worked out pretty well on her debut, but Stoneacre Girl was well beaten on her racecourse bow. And Arkadian Blues certainly showed enough on his debut to warrant serious consideration here in what as the look of a modest heat but, for the winner, we return to Silver Crest.
