In depth

Verdict

SAM SPADE is still creeping up the weights but looks to be in decent form and is probably the one to beat on his three-length defeat of course specialist General Tufto over track and trip at the start of the month. Bitaphon is tried in a visor after a modest effort in a seller at Redcar last week but has won over this trip on Turf and makes more appeal than Roger Thorpe. Loyal N Trusted may have needed his reappearance and looks best of the rest.
