In depth

Verdict

Seamus Mullins looks to have found a suitable opportunity for Special Conquest to open his account over fences and the son of El Conquistador is taken to do so at the main expense of Thyne Man and No Further Comment. The last mentioned showed promise at Fakenham last month and the five-year-old is less exposed than most of his rivals after just three career starts. Comte de Chambord and Silver Styx have more letters than numbers in the form books next to their names and of more interest may be I'm For Waiting, who ran with credit behind Dickens at Bangor earlier this month. Thyne Man has found one too good in each of his last two starts and should be thereabouts again but John Mackie's gelding may once more have to settle for a minor role behind Special Conquest. The selection was not disgraced back over hurdles at Haydock last month but earlier form when chasing home Schuh Shine at the same venue is probably the best on offer here and a reproduction of that should suffice.
