Verdict

Gorgeous General completed a double with a victory at Newcastle having escaped a penalty for an earlier success over this course and distance. But he carries 6lb extra today with runner-up DIVINE CALL re-opposing on much better terms. The latter was beaten only a neck here with Piazon and Sir Walter further behind and Charlie Wallis’ veteran is taken to go one better. Warrior's Valley remains 10lb higher than when scoring here last year and Pearl Noir has just the one win in 24 starts on the Fibresand.
