    Verdict

SIR PITT is the pick in this maiden with Pennfield Pirate and Ibn Hiyyan the alternatives. John Gosden has his string in rude form at present and his maidens have been a particular source of positivity. The colt is a well bred type and as his mother, Rebecca Sharp, improved with age, we are hopeful that he will be able to display those traits. Pennfield Pirate isn't the most obvious on paper though as a progeny of Bahamian Bounty, we have no issues in relation to the fibresand surface. Ibn Hiyyan has already been gelded. The assessor rates him off a mark of 60 so it is a surprise to see him try his luck in maidens rather than handicaps. Rosie Raymond has been keeping counsel in National Hunt bumpers of late while the remaining elder horses have had plenty of chances to shine and seem distinctly moderate on what they have shown. Sir Pitt will be short though seems to have scared off much of the meaningful opposition.
