Oh dear! A minefield here to conclude the card and the principals look to be Compton Star, Upright Ima and Ghaill Force and the vote goes to Compton Star. The Ron Hodges-trained gelding shows a consistent level of form at around this trip and was not far away from this mark under A P McCoy last time. Admittedly he has a pilot of different ability on board here but the horse probably has the form and ability to win what is very much an open contest. Upright Ima kept finding one or two too good in handicap hurdles off similar marks in the spring and comes back freshened up here. Trip and ground look ideal for her, but she never quite seems to see out her effort and is again vulnerable. Ghaill Force dropped back to this trip at Plumpton last time and was competitive from this mark and if there is any drying of the ground then his chance would be enhanced. Grey Shark's run behind Felinious at Towcester looks decent enough form in context here and Dai Burchell's runner looks best of the remainder, but Compton Star gets the vote.
