    Verdict

A truly terrible contest where On Y Va is the suggestion to see off Reelinga and Highglen. Among many nagging doubts here, Richard Phillips does not have his runners going that impressively, but then as a result he's one step nearer to his next success. On Y Va does at least see out this trip well and also acts with cut in the ground, so those are both pluses. This return to hurdles is his first outing in this discipline since 2005, and if he retains that previous ability, which is also not certain, then he has the form to win this, so he is a token selection. Reelinga is in decent form and this trip suits, plus she also handles juice in the ground. In such a weak race she'd have to have a decent chance on that basis alone, though at the weights she is plenty high enough here. Highglen fell too early to get in a blow last time but won on soft in Ireland and has a much better chance than if this were a handicap, so he has to be respected if he jumps round. A win for Boyastara, coming from such exhalted connections, wouldn't be the biggest schock, but his recent form is drastic so we will oppose. Brendar has a love of Plumpton, but likes this ground, and if handling this much sharper track he's definitely not out of it, but preference here is for On Y Va.
