In depth

Verdict

Not too many arrive in good form but ALIANDY did nothing wrong in two starts before Christmas after a lengthy absence and gets the vote now that Kim Bailey's string looks to be returning to form after a quiet period. The selection was only beaten a nose by Midnight Cowboy when last seen at Doncaster in December and doesn't have many miles on the clock. Point-to-point winner Black Valentine is another open to substantial progress and is respected, although the handicapper hasn't done him any particular favours here. Laugharne has claims but only if forgiven his poor effort last time when pulled up. Sir Will and Volt Face could have more to offer while Another Frontier and Albert D'Olivate would also be considered at their best.
