In depth

Verdict

A modest event that can go to WESTER LODGE with Tayman and Champagne Dancer making a modicum of appeal. The selection is rated just 79 over hurdles but he has shown improved form under this rider on the flat and could be open to a little progression under this code. Tayman needs little introduction. His yard are in form and the horse did take a small event at Plumpton in September. Champagne Dancer drops in trip after a couple of disappointments. He would hold claims on a third at Worcester in September. Coup De Tabac has not gone on from a solid run at Newton Abbot behind Right Option. Irish point winner, Jim Tango is tried in cheek pieces for the first time. Ramvaswani is often backed in events of this nature though his record of 0 from 34 over hurdles says it all. Might As Well was pulled up at Exeter on his last start and while dropping significantly in trip, his yard have already been among the winners this season. Isintshelovely took a similarly poor race at Huntingdon having been tried under close up tactics. Whether this can be repeated under a penalty is another matter entirely. Not a race for the housekeeping monies though Wester Lodge is certainly at the right end of the handicap.
