Verdict

Brinestine is the only course and distance winner in the line-up and though that was on good ground he's now 14lb lower and has a claimer on board. Columbanus signalled an imminent victory when just beaten at Wincanton but has been a beaten favourite on his next two starts in similar company. Kayf Charmer has yet to win in a dozen starts but came closest on heavy going at Exeter last time and a similar level of form should see her in the frame. This isn't much better than a seller and NORSE LIGHT might just be good enough. David Dennis' youngster, a winner on soft ground at Ludlow in February, was in the lead at this trip before failing to hold off Hollywood All Star over an extra half-mile at Uttoxeter and surprisingly has been dropped 1lb in the weights.
