Verdict

Mathix never threatened the winner when runner-up at Lingfield on his reappearance but a mark of 80 suggests he’ll be winning at this level before long. He should get the better of the older horses Different Journey and Sir Runs A Lot, but AFAAK (NAP) looks a bigger threat. Charlie Hills’ colt separated a couple of subsequent winners when fourth on his racecourse debut at Newmarket and can open his account with normal progress. Godolphin’s 550,000gns purchase Tribal Conquest has already been gelded but may prove best of the rest.
