In depth

Verdict

BLUE TOP has progressed with each of three starts this term and now looks ready to strike after a close-up fourth, beaten only 2l, in a better race at Doncaster. He looks the best horse on show here against limited opposition and can post a third career success. Rust is of interest as he's relatively unexposed and could be a player if ready for this first run since November whilst Ferdy shaped surprisingly well when upped dramatically in trip last time from sprinting to 1m4f at Haydock. He may have found his niche somewhat belatedly over the longer trip and would rate the main danger if able to back up that improvement here.
