In depth

Verdict

Stoneham's winning run came to end in spectacular fashion at Catterick on Wednesday and he'd be difficult to recommend if making a quick reappearance. Frederic got off the mark on the Flat at Musselburgh last month but was only third off this mark on a return visit to the Scottish track and JAN SMUTS is weighted to take revenge today on Micky Hammond's stayer. Only beaten a length last time at Carlisle, the latter handles give in the ground and won at Ripon in the spring when just a pound lower. Moshe needs to rediscover his best but is still preferred to the frustrating Rock On Bollinski and Wishing Well, who is very one-paced.
