After rattling up a hat-trick in lesser company, ROBERO (NAP) was sent off favourite for a Class 3 handicap at Ascot last month. But he looked ill-at-ease on the fast ground, hanging in the closing stages. It might be worth giving him another chance, though he has no form on going this soft. Signore Piccolo has been knocking on the door over 6f lately but has only run once before over this longer trip. This distance has also proved beyond Meshardal in the past but it won’t be a problem for Personal Touch, who is starting to look well treated, and Manatee Bay might be suited nowadays though is in need of some respite from the handicapper. This may be too tough for Yarmouth second Whozthecat nowadays.
