In depth

Verdict

Stablemates Hammersmith and Bold Banks should both improve for recent comeback runs. The latter may just be better suited by this trip but the market will probably be the best guide to their respective chances. The one to beat, however, looks to be LAMB OR COD who has a decent jumping pedigree and found only the well-regarded Argocat too strong on his hurdles bow over C&D last month having earlier shown promise in bumpers. Jack The Pirate has hinted at ability while there should be more to come from Gowran sixth Thebarberkelly but point-to-point winners Western Man and Robbie McMahon may do better when tackling fences and Flat winner Sarwin looked a light of former days on the level last year. Hayzoom also has a bit to prove at present.
