In depth

Verdict

POPCORN should probably have won over hurdles by now but gets a very good chance to put matters straight here. Willie Mullins' bumper winner was run out of it close home by the very consistent Gift Of Dgab at Navan a month ago and though a longer trip will probably be required in the future he should have the pace for this. Academy Rose looked promising when runner-up in a maiden hurdle at Thurles in November and wasn't suited by reverting to a bumper at Tramore a month later. She should win races over timber and looks a threat but Funatfuntasia, who has shown a little promise, will do better when the ground quickens. Ballyhoura has shown potential in his two starts and is one to keep an eye on for the future.
