In depth

Verdict

EXXARO gave notice of an imminent victory when runner-up over this trip at Killarney and though subsequently beaten when odds-on at Clonmel found an extended two miles too short. He can gain his first victory here as Kilclispeen is penalised for his victory in a Punchestown bumper and has run poorly in two earlier starts over hurdles. Akito has run well enough in bumpers to suggest Shay Barry will find a race for him over timber and the four-year-old Pilgrim Way can improve now stepped up to a more suitable distance.
