In depth

Verdict

Plenty of deadwood here and Cockspur is confidently anticipated to account for Ebony Jack and Lavenoak Lad. The selection does not always appear completely in love with the game but this is moderate fare and with the champion jockey aboard, he could not have any more encouragement to prodcuce the goods. Ebony Jack isn't the speediest of individuals but should plug on again. He outstayed Satco's Deception at Fontwell over a couple of furlongs further and remains in good heart. Lavenoak Lad won a dire event on soft ground at Taunton and more is required on this occasion. Casalini may have benefitted for a break after a below par performance. Forest Miller is respected with the booking of Richard Johnson tonight and it would be no surprise to see money in the ring for him. Blue Rising has shown little worthwhile form but is another to note in the betting. A race that should not take too much winning and Cockspur will struggle to spurn more obvious opportunities than this.
