In depth

Verdict

Earcomesannie has shown improved form of late with wins here and at Uttoxeter on her last two starts and she has to be respected but she may struggle to defy the latest rise in the weights and preference is for Guerabad, who gets the vote with Arctic Spirit rated the pick of the remainder. The selection is relatively lightly raced having only had the four runs since joining David Pipe from France and, having run well on fast ground here last month, she looks worth backing today. Castlemore seems to be a shade high in the weights at present, while Jonjo O'Neill's Keepitsecret does not look to be as good over fences as over hurdles and may be best watched. A market move for the reappearing Thyne Hall would be of interest but more solid claims are probably held by Arctic Spirit, who has shown a consistent level of form of late. Guerabad has solid claims following a pleasing run here last time and he is preferred.
