In depth

Verdict

It's difficult to fault the consistency of Maggio but Patrick Griffin's six-year-old has now had 11 attempts to get off the mark over timber and was readily brushed aside by Desert Cry at Sedgefield last week. He only receives 1lb from WHOOPS A DAISY, who had no trouble landing the odds at Bangor earlier this month having beaten subsequent easy winner Charminster on her hurdling debut at Hereford - she is the one to beat here. Buddy Holly got off the mark over C&D last month and should be challenging for a place again but Ultravox could be ready for a rest now after a couple of moderate efforts at Newbury and Sandown.
