Verdict

GRANDEUR CAPPY was making his handicap debut when beaten just over a length by D's Trix at Clonmel, a massive improvement on anything he'd shown previously. Normal progress should see him difficult to beat in a race where most of the runners are out of sorts. Vardas Supreme has done all of his running in testing conditions and though well beaten at Navan last time had run very well at Down Royal previously. Coolharbour Breeze won over the C&D on quick ground last summer but has struggled subsequently so a bigger threat could come from Big Jemmy, who won a handicap here from a 7lb lower mark on New Year's Day and has since run over hurdles.
