Verdict

GREAT REASON may not be in the same class as Dave's Dream who landed this race for the same stable two years ago but he still showed enough on debut to believe that he can win an average bumper. Artic Pride and Mail De Bievre are amongst the dangers. Great Reason wasn't beaten far at Towcester on debut when looking in need of the experience and he could be hard to pass now that he's got that run under his belt and McCoy in the saddle. Mail De Bievre has shown a decent level of form but will need every ounce of his pilot's claim if he's to overcome his penalty for his debut success in a junior bumper at Exeter. Artic Pride made a hundred and twenty thousand euros at the sales in 2007 and hails from a yard that knows the time of day in these races; market support would be encouraging. Katapult has plenty to prove on debut for a new yard but Beau Lake showed enough in a Sandown bumper that has worked out well to be of keen interest despite failing to build on that run next time. Fort Severn, Tarbeck and Molanna View are others to consider in a race that may prove to be informative but Great Reason could take the beating.
