Verdict

A competitive end to the card where ABULHARITH is taken to come home ahead of Spate River and Danse Macabre amongst others. Michael Scudamore has his string in good form at present and Abulharith comes into the race on the back of a career best effort over hurdles having finished a close second at Fakenham. He has to prove as effective back on a more conventional track from a 4lb higher mark but may prove up to the task. Spate River has taken a while to get the hang of jumping but there was a little more promise to be taken from his latest third at this track over two miles where he plugged on in the closing stages to suggest that he is worth trying over this longer trip. Danse Macabre is at the other end of the spectrum in terms of experience but he merits respect having returned to form in the spring as he's well treated on the best of his old form but preference is for Abulharith.
